Unable to control your psychic abilities
When stepping across the threshold into the soul work world there are responsibilities that lie on your shoulders as soon as you step in.
This is an important aspect to think about as you work towards the awareness and control in your soul abilities- your psychic abilities, intuitive abilities, mediumship abilities, healing abilities and beyond.
If you have the tapping on your shoulder that these abilities are yours (and even if you don’t feel that tapping, you are invited to explore the tools of your birth rite), then finding your purpose and intention with these abilities is part of your journey, too.
What will you do with your psychic abilities?
Quite often I come across people who are aware of their psychic abilities but, still have their doubts. First, they want to be validated that their experiences are a soul ability (psychic, intuitive, mediumship, healing). I am a believer that everybody has these abilities, some stronger than others, so once I can validate someone’s experiences as a soul ability experience they want to know how to develop it. More specifically, how to control these soul abilities so that they can tap into these abilities at their choosing and be able to depend on the information received.
This is where I always jump in with an important question that hit me after I realized how to tap into my abilities but, I think could be a way to move forward in being able to control your ability- Why?
Why do you want to have control of these abilities? What is your purpose that these abilities will aid?
Your question: ‘Well, what if my evolution of harnessing these powers makes for a purpose I don’t have now?’
That’s possible. I will say, wanting people to be aware of their own abilities has been added to my purpose and voiced through my intentions since becoming aware and developing my psychic, intuitive, mediumship abilities. BUT, there is something you’ve been living to for quite a long time doing all along that will likely continue to be a very important cause for you even after you attain the control of your soul abilities.
3) They then face the reality of attaining this truth. What do I do with it.
Uncover your purpose to create your intention
Your purpose is what you do that creates positive change. It is something that is intrinsically inspiring and motivating to you.
Uncovering your purpose is something you already do even if you haven’t worked out exactly what that is yet. Finding that purpose creates a statement that you can say to yourself and propose to the ‘spirit’ world as you work with your soul abilities.
Finding your purpose takes an objective look at the past to see patterns. The internal review of the past and right now creates that intention of how you will serve your purpose in any way that you work.
My purpose as an example
More recently in my timeline, I’ve become aware of the patterns that had developed when it came to jobs, goals or hobbies that attracted me. The patterns I noticed had to do with helping others. It also had to do with helping others express themselves. Here’s some of my list that led me to that conclusion:
1) In high school, I decided I wanted to go to college for Recording Engineering in order to become a music producer. I wanted to help musicians in the studio and create the sound that the world would hear.
2) After college, I became a tattoo artist and loved the aspect of helping people express themselves by putting art on their body.
3) Years later, I ended up getting a job in radio working on-air. I found the most rewarding part of the job was helping bring attention to causes and people- giving opportunity to be heard. I still do this work to this day, with my actual voice.
4) Around the same time that I got into radio, I took courses at a local University. My aim was to get into graduate school to become a Speech Pathologist, in order to help diagnose people who have lost the ability to talk or need therapy in order to gain or regain their ability to express themselves.
Why is that my purpose?
So what is my purpose? Helping others be heard, be a conduit that passes an idea along. But, why? Why is it that my particular purpose?
Taking a look at my past, having a voice was really hard for me growing up. I had it, I expressed it, then, growing into an older child, learned to repress it.
As a teenager, I found music and art were ways for me to prepare, refine and express my voice and do so beautifully and acceptably.
As I grew into an adult, I was able to express myself beyond my music and art, creating a more true reflection to my voice. With this genuine voice I gained for myself, I found a need to want to help others express their messages.
It wasn’t until I sat down and started working through this subject that I really had thought about why my purpose was to help others be heard. But, since becoming cognizant of it, it’s added an emotional connection to my purpose. This emotion only adds to my conviction when I communicate my intention to myself and spirit. It is heard and it is felt.
My intention
Now that I have my purpose - helping others express themselves- I can use that to create my intention.
My intention is what I say to myself, the energy and purpose that I focus on, when I go into a reading or meditation or whatever that puts my attention to my soul work.
Here’s what my intention could be going into a reading: ‘I would like to help this person understand what spirit would like to pass along to them.’ or ‘I will serve spirit by allowing messaging to be received from this person’s loved ones and interpreting to the best of my abilities.’
It’s that easy. Just gotta lay it out. If your energy is pure in your intention then spirit is going to be all about this.
Now, it’s your turn
No matter where you are with the control of your soul abilities, how you serve with these abilities will always be a point of importance every time you work.
Work out your purpose
Here’s what you need to do:
Write down the different roles, jobs, volunteer work and hobbies you’ve had with the responsibilities that went along with it
Write down who the work directly impacted
Write down how that work directly impacted people
Now, ask yourself what do these roles and work do that creates a positive change for someone or something?
Then, ask yourself what do they all have in common?
What they could have in common could be very broad. In fact, it would make more sense for your purpose to be more broad than narrow because, you don’t want to limit yourself to how you can work the purpose.
Create your intention
Now, take your purpose and word it as what you intend to do.
When you go into meditation or a reading, say your intention to yourself or out loud. Saying it to yourself allows for your energy to align to your purpose. It also allows for ‘the universe’ to understand your purpose and judge its need in assisting you.
Figuring out this piece of the puzzle is just as important as being able to control your soul abilities, no matter if you are in the dooryard of higher consciousness or have already been carried over the threshold. Your intention with your soul abilities is truly what matters most in your soul journey.
