Tools to inspire messaging
In this world of soul work, there are tools that people use. Not just your tools of soul senses/ psychic senses but physical tools touched and manipulated by the physical body. Through what I have experienced and speaking from a place of what is my truth, I can see how they can be good for the process of communication despite having only seen these tools at work.
Divination is a form of utilizing a direct manipulation by Spirit/Source while using your own tools to further interpret messaging given by a tool, such as tarot cards, tea leaves, candle flames or runes. These items have a language of their own dependent on their behavior, symbology and happenstance. Those trusting in Spirit know that happenstance is not how it works, rather, it is divine working- that is, placement and presence based on what Source wants the psychic/intuitive to see and interpret.

Understanding the Concept of Tools and Their Purpose for the Developing Psychic, Medium or Intuitive
There are many types of tools out there for divination. No matter which tool you use, your soul abilities are the access to messaging.
Let’s lay this out using tarot cards as our divination tool to provide an example.
You can think of tarot as random card draws. But, in the world of divination, there is no randomness, it is all purposeful in what is chosen and where the cards lay
You can also understand that in using tarot, there are layouts created as a way for 'the divine' to place awareness in particular places of life, that it's a chosen card for a chosen place.
The cards chosen also aligns with the meaning of it's placement.
From here, the information directs the psychic/intuitive's focus concerning the sitter's attitude/emotion or the sitter's relationships. The cards add specificity to events but it is the psychic/intuitive that can expand upon and receive incoming messaging related to the specifics acknowledged by the cards.
The cards, placements and agreed upon meanings draw inspiration for the psychic/intuitive or medium. The card gives you direction. The acts of who picks a card, what card is picked, the distribution of cards in a layout determines where to focus the psychic/medium/intuitive focus.
In the case of tarot, a card is an area of focus that needs to be acknowledged. Once selected, drawn or turned, the card inspires the message, the meaning by way of the soul abilities and soul senses.
2. These Tools Are Included In the Process and NOT Just the Process Itself
What would be important for someone choosing to use a tool for messaging, as is the case of divination, is to understand the tool’s role in communication using your higher self, soul abilities and soul senses.
It is a compass, not the magnetic poles. It is the sail, it is not the blowing wind.
Tools are just that, a way for you to do something a little easier, in a different way, perhaps a better way for you individually.
A tool is has no meaning in and of itself. It’s meaning is messaged to and communicated from the one who interprets but guided by the tools being used.
3. Avoid Using Divination Tools As A Crutch
Tools of divination can be a crutch to those wanting to connect to spirit, to communicate messaging. One could rely on these tools to open up the lines of communication. One could be comfortable in your tools’ boundaries that create boundaries in ones openness to the possibilities of communication.
A tool could be mistaken as having connection with spirit. That a tool could fool someone of their abilities when, in reality, that may not be so.
In the end, tools of divination are not the end-all-be all to our communication with spirit/ our higher selves. These tools could be a great way for us to open the lines of communication and focus on subject areas that use your soul abilities but do not rely on them to encompass all that is needed in a message, all that needs to be communicated.
Final Words
In the end, using divination is one way to give focus to psychic messaging or intuitive knowings. Divination uses tools to focus on the 'place of imagination' where you are open to influence but do not think that the tools of divination capture the whole message- that is the work of the psychic/intuitive/medium.
It is your trust in your soul abilities and soul skills that enhance the message, give detail and evidence to your message. This can not be done alone with just your tools.
