Is feeling spiritually connected to nature a thing? Having conversations with trees?

Hi! This is my first post here. I just have a question; is feeling very, very connected to nature a sign of psychic ability? When I was a young child, I would spend a lot of time outside, feeling weirdly empowered just by being in nature, and I would talk to the plants around me, usually the trees. I would sometimes talk aloud, but it was usually in my head, and, weirdly, I always felt so comforted when I did this. I felt like the trees were talking back, and I could “hear” them having conversations with each other as well as with me. I would get attached to particular trees, too, and would spend hours sitting underneath them and chatting. They would tell me their names, or I would give them ones they liked. There was one particular one who was named Trevol, who was broken in a half during a storm, and I was devastated and mourned him (yes, the trees also sometimes presented in a gendered way) like he was a person. I still have a piece of wood I saved before they cut out his stump. This connection lasted from as early as I could remember until I was about twelve, when I stopped spending time outside and slowly lost the “ability” to talk to my friends. Am I going insane? I really feel like this connection was more than just childhood imagination. Does anyone else have experiences like mine? Did it stop because I grew up, or is there a way I can recover the connection, because I would really love to.
