Reddit Answers: How to deal with the body after death

Going to subreddit of r/psychic someone is asking about spreading ashes of a friend who had passed. The person who passed had a tumultuous life and the friend wants to be sure to help the person heal via the ashes of the body. Interesting subject here. Let's take a look at their question:

Quick Question about Spreading Ashes and the spirits/the dead

A good friend of mine died in July. She was 51 years old, an addict, was on methadone and had big time booze and prescription pills problems. I talked to her on the phone a couple of times a week just to check on her. Anyway, I had not heard from her in about 8 days and finally drove to her apartment, called the cops to do a wellness check and they found her there dead and very decomposed. Now she comes from a very odd religious cult type family who refused her ashes or having anything to do with her remains. So it is going to fall on my shoulders. Which I am totally fine with. I knew her since Junior High School. At first, I was thinking of spreading her ashes in various places: Behind the Burger King we used to work in during High School. The town we went to college in. The Zoo, The Ball Park, New orleans, a Casino in Mississippi.... But Now I am thinking maybe spreading her around to these special places is not a good thing and is spreading her spirit too thin or giving her problems in the after life? I also paid for a memorial Paver brick for her near a fountain in our home town. So I ws thinking of getting a grave and putting her ashes in it with a grave marker and everything else. My Question is: You guys are Mediums and have ties to the spirit world. Should ashes be spread around like this? Or should they be put in a proper grave with prayers and a tombstone? Or does it matter? Any advice would be appreciated!
